Hi, guys.

Many of you might have heard about this ENBSeries thing, that adds graphical sh*t effects to any DX-using game.

I had an idea: what about using something like that and cel-shade TF2, using Pixel Shaders?

I think that a not-so-strong level of cel-shade could add a lot to TF2' graphics, and since I can't use TF2 with graphics at Max, it would be awesome.

What do ya think?

It would be neat, but I dunno about adding "a lot to TF2 graphics." I mean TF2 beautiful as is and slapping cell-shading on games, contrary to popular belief, does not make them twice as good.

The DX hack sounds like a hook-on. VAC does not like hook-ons. Not one bit.

You can get a cel-shaded type effect by messing with the lightwarps.

Looks kinda ass though, if you ask me.

(not released)
Twice the number of polygons. May halve your fps :p

I use alternate lightwarps found on fpsbanana (which is broken) : http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins/63120

Edit : whoa, linking to Steam forums automatically names the link. Awesome !

TF2 already has a distinct style associated with it. To me, slapping on another style of graphics probably wouldn't add very much.

Also, I'll bet that somewhere in TF2's development Valve tried to use a cel-shaded style, but decided that it looked better without the black outlines.

I personally like the cel-shaded style, but I don't think it would work well with TF2 (one of my fave xbox games was Cel Damage).

Nice feedback, everyone.
I just checked out these unreleased playermodels, and imho, the outlines are just too strong.

My kind of not-so-strong would be a little bit of outline around the players' body.

That would make the graphical style of TF2 even more evident.

Does anyone knows any program that applies shader effects to games?
