My mom and I just evacuated from our house. We're in Southern California, brushfire territory. Anyways there's a fire literally a few blocks down from out house on one of the hills. It's a voluntary evacuation. Plus there's a good 4 rows of buffer houses between our house and the fire, heh, so I don't think it's in any danger. But still, crazy day. :O

Eeep! That sounds like bad!

Echoing DJive's sentiment and if you are ok with I am willing to pray that things are alright. :)

Australia never gets news of things like this that happen overseas. Maybe in the back page of the paper, but often what happens here gets overseas :/
Hope everything is right with you. ;)
Earlier in the year Australia had their fair share of fires. Like 300 people were killed :(
Could have been 20-30km from my house too.

Well, surprisingly, I'm back at home right now. They cleared up the part of the fire near the houses and let everyone back in.

Part of the fire is still going, but its further in the hills going away from houses. Apparently at one point it got within 30 feet of a row of houses, but they were able to stop it.

Well, that's enough excitement for one night I think. Now to unpack everything. Yay.

Good to hear everything is burnt-free.
Amazes me how one of your actions during evacuating your house in the wake of a raging inferno was to let your TF2Maps.Net mapping community know :p
