..stop lurking and introduce myself now that I've felt compelled to toss out a couple of posts today.
Zizi here, and a number of places, including Steam and in-game. I've been lurking around here soaking up good advice for quite some time, and I've been working with Source for a while, though I rarely get to the point of completion so much as I noodle around with small test-projects and ideas here and there. Outside of Source, I've been doing game modeling for years and years across a whole lot of engines, spent a bunch of time studying and practicing various aspects of design, and all that good stuff.
Mostly I rarely get anything really completed for TF2 in particular because although I love the game and all those sorts of things that compel one to map(and working in Source isn't half-bad, either), I'm a Master's student at present, and most of my academic and professional work is in other engines. Doesn't leave me a ton of time to pound on my TF2 work, sad to say.
That said, I probably don't get as much done as I could because I have a strange interest in doing ridiculous stuff that breaks the engine for fun, and I burn a lot of time I could probably be spending making progress trying to shove square pegs through round holes because the square holes just aren't cool enough or whatever. Whether I'll ever actually complete something worth playing is anyone's guess, at least as far as TF2 goes... But I'm feeling optimistic about it.
Likely you'll see me floating around chat now and again while I'm doing whatever bone-headed thing I'm trying to work out at the time. :facepalm
