For various reasons, including access to a computer that will actually run TF2, I am very new to the PC TF2 scene. This is my first step into the modding/mapping scene. Having seen demos of the FarCry map editor from way back when, I am surprised at how difficult HAMMER looks. TF2 is where my heart is though, so HAMMER it is!

Right now, my favorite gametype for PC TF2 gaming is Payload. I don't have mad skillz, though I like to think that I make up for my crappy aiming/steering ability by being a little smarter and more focused than a lot of gamers. ;) But smart is as smart does, and on a new map, everyone is an idiot. ha ha ha My favorite map is Hoodoo, and I give huge kudos (and grateful thanks) to Youme, Snipergen, Nineaxis, and Oxy. Of course, I love the other gametypes too, and the other map I actively seek out is Fastlane. Well done, skdr!

My favorite classes are Pyro, Engie, Scout, Demo, and Medic, in that order. I like the pyro because I can't aim for sh!t, and I enjoy pushing the enemy back, and hearing the crackle of Medics on fire.

I am looking forward to hangin' out here. Great site! Great community!

Hi and welcome to TF2Maps.net 3Suns! :D

To get started, you should read through the TF2 wiki and our own rather impressive Tutorial section.

If you need help with Entities download this. However, you need to download this so the Entities will work right. Now if you need help with things like doors download this. Lastly if you have a hate for the model browser download this.

Don't worry about making it pretty just yet. However, feel free to sign up for gameday for some good testing. Gamedays are on Fridays in the euro server and Saturday/Sunday in the U.S. server. If you have any other questions, there is usually someone in Steam chat who can help. Welcome to the group!

Lastly don't forget!
Does it help?
Do you agree?
Make you laugh?

Welcome to the community 3sun.

Although it may feel a bit cumbersome at first, the basics of hammer are picked up pretty quick!

eerieone!

Cashworks is incredibly beautiful! I have only played it once because I didn't know how to add servers to my favorites at first (you can't do it from the TF2 in game server browser - at least not on my machine) and I forgot the name. Also, I have to watch my ping a bit. 300+ gets a bit scary, and there haven't been any servers serving it up when I filter the results. It wasn't until about a week ago that I figured out the name of the map that had been burnt into my memory.

Anyway, my impressions were that it is HUGE, and varied, and had some great choke points. I did have troubles getting lost at first, but the beauty of Payload is that if you follow the tracks, you will eventually get there. lol

Cheers! Adding a Cashworks server to my favorites now. :)
