Has anyone noticed a critical error in most payload maps?

Well, the train raises when it goes over capture points, but the track DOES NOT raise in the model. I find it pretty annoying, so if anyone who is currently making a payload, wasting 3 path_tracks isn't worth it.

Hardly a critical error. And yes I noticed ages back. Doesn't make a difference to me.

There are worst things. Such as walking out RED's spawn on Badwater to see some buildings obviously being non-rendered by the areaportal when viewing it at certain angles.

Yes I noticed this. I released one of the original hoodoo alphas without the bump, just smooth over the cap point.

It looked shit.

So I re-introduced the bump.

It also clues people in that the cart is that close to the objective.

And VALVe made it raise up in their maps for a reason.

Not nearly as annoying as having the cart go up, up, up, and flip over about head height to a Heavy above the point. And then refuse to move.

This is the kind of thing most players wouldn't even realise. Only people like us, the level designers who are critically anylising our area of study, notice these things.

No it doesn't make sense.

Yes it does look funky ingame.

technically it's a no win situations if you are going to nit pick to that degree. Yes, the tracks stay level on the capture platform but also, the wheels of the bomb cart are wider then the tracks. So either you have it go up a bit and over (just above the tracks) or you have your wide wheels on your bomb carts plowing through the metal on the platform. Take your pick. Neither are a big deal if you ask me.

Have to agree. If I'm in a Payload map, I'm more concerned with whether the bomb is moving or not as opposed to finding an angle to check the wheels out.
