Our wip, mapping discussion, and tutorial section are all active on a regular basis. There's always at least a few people in the chat room. Amazingly though, our little group here is still quite new. I'm also kinda bored at the moment, so allow me to put things into perspective for you: Our group, a brief timeline-

9/20/2007: Immortal-D realized there is no mapping group for TF2, and wants to find like-minded people.

9/21/07-9/28/07: Immortal-D is a lazy bastard.

9/29/07: I create the Steam group 'Team Fortress 2 Mappers', or TF2M for short.

9/30/07-10/10/07: Membership steadily grows. People are seen in the chat room on a regular basis.

10/11/07-10/20/07: The search begins for a forum we can use. Few people are questioned, but nothing ever comes of it.

10/21/07-10/25/07: Pimped the group on the Steam boards a few times. Get an email from some weird guy named drpepper, who posted in one of my threads. He links me to tf2maps.net

10/25/07-10/28/07: Immortal-D continues to be a lazy bastard. Absolutely overwhelmed that the Steam group has surpassed 150 members.

10/29/07 I ask Drpepper if I can direct my users to his forum. He says ok. I make an annoucement on our Steam page that our little group now has a home.

September- Early December: Life is good. Members keep coming, the forum expands, and talk begins of having a server. And the people rejoiced (yay).

Mid December-12/31/07: TheBladeRoden and Nizzem are appointed as moderators. The people are scared.

Somtime In January: DJive is appointed moderator, since Nizzem was never heard from again. Rumour has it he still lurks here sometimes, and I still haven't gotten around to removing his admin privileges.

Later In January: Immortal-D questions if we need the Steam group anymore. The community has moved to the website, and the TF2Mappers are no more. Everyone tells D to quit bitching and being so dramatic. Immortal-D is sad, and the Steam group stops being updated.

Late January-Now: After going through several server options, Drpepper rents one (yay). Several weeks of inactivity teach us that we don't really need a server right now. Immortal-D gets very wrapped up in school, and doesn't participate nearly as much. (meh)

2/23 Another game day, trying to put the server that Drpepper pays for to good use.

Right Now- After all is set and done, Immortal-D is happy he started that little Steam group. Met a bunch of awsome guys, and created a home to house the custom content for an amazing game. The tf2maps.net community (or TF2Mappers, if you prefer) is going to be around for a very long time.

Hey, anyone who asks me about my mapping or where to go for tutorials or something I point them to either the Valve Developer Wiki... or here. It's an excellent place for TF2 Mappers to be.
