I know Pakrat can be used to put textures onto a map file, but can it be used to take them off? (Not just deleted.)

To be clearer can I get the .vtf and .vmt files loaded on a map off the map and put somewhere where I can use them in the future?

Stealing other people's custom content is not right, and I doubt anyone here will condone it.

That wasn't my intent. I'm trying to get some files I created off a map I made. I don't know what happened to the original files, and I really don't want to redo those textures again.
Thanks for the hostile assumption.

I can understand why you guys wouldn't want people to know how to do this, however. I guess I'll just have to start over from scratch then.

I know you can view all the map content, but im not sure if you can copy it outta the map.

Pakrat allows you to extract just as easily as import, so yes, this is possible.

Or you could just open GCFScape, and open the .bsp file, and it will show all the pakratted content just like it would act with a .gcf

I didn't know you could do this until very recently and it's quite helpful sometimes. I know Nem has this listed as a feature, but most only use it for .GCFs.
