Has anyone else been lagging ingame recently?

I'm trying to figure out if it's my new motherboard, or just a random TF2 hiccup. I get the briefest of pauses where everything just stops. And a few seconds later, I have magically shifted positions. It has become very annoying, and I suspect it's my new motherboard giving me grief :( Just b/c it does Crossfire instead of Sli doesn't mean I can't use my 9800gt, right?

What do you mean by lagging? Low FPS rate or Internet related issue?

I've been getting a fair amount of stutterbugs and "rubberbanding" (mostly of other scouts) as of late, but I attribute it to my CPU which I'm almost certain is starting to fall apart. Latency? Nope, I see no difference.

Yes, it happens to me every now and then, Tf2 freezes for over 2 seconds then, I get a backstab or an arrow in the head. I guess crtashes are not at the same time for every player playing... That or I fall in the death pit in Cashworks! :p

Crossfire enabled boards doesn't mean you can't use Nvidia cards, just means you can't use two+ of them. In order to run multiple cards you'd have to use ATi products.

As for the lagging, I can't really tell you. I just installed Windows 7 and played for a bit like that, it was hitching quite badly for me, but I attributed the performance to the fact that I'm using an unstable release candidate for a operating system :p.

the last time i got that type of lag was when steam was disconnecting once every 5 minutes. Do open chat windows tell you you lost connection to steam?

Yes, but it'll also spam in console that the server has lost connection and achievements are halted.

It also does that when only you lost connection? (and not the server)

Glad to know it's not just me, lol. This only started happening recently. Specifically, around the time I installed my new board. At first I thought it was a function of the big difference in my hdd speeds. Steam is installed on my 7-year old ata drive, while the OS is on my brand new 7200rpm sata. But I had that setup on my old motherboard as well. So I put Steam on the main drive, but it hasn't helped. My brother has had a similar problem for ages now, and attributes it to our wireless cards. I'm using a little usb antennae thing, as opposed to a full pci wireless card. Suck :(
