PLR Backwoods

This is my contest entry for the #3rd annual competition. Backwoods is my first fighting type map i've ever made so i hope i can learn a lot from this competition. This plr map is a basic 3 stage race.

Those developer textures are way too harsh on the eyes, please desaturate them immediately, and don't use such clashing colors as blue and orange. Also, yeah the green cart is a bit odd, is that just supposed to fit with the theme of the map or something?

Methinks he's using a skin from FPSB that turns the BLU cart green.

I must agree, it hurts a lot!!!

The layout looks good but please, OH PLEASE, use darker measurement textures.

Alright, thanks for the advice so far.

Void probably don't like your font you used on your screens, maybe make them tf2 style or something. :p

Next to that, the map don't looks bad, I will maybe run through it when my exams are done.. :)

Oh yeh, what is the team fortress 2 style font? i've always wanted to know.

My map is going up on friday euro gameday test (hopefuly), make sure to check it out and give me some info on it (since i will be away).

Basic detailing in progress on stage 1 is underway!

I believe you mentioned in the chat room that you made those painful dev textures from scratch. For your information, Youme's excellent "customdev" ones were made official (and now exist in the TF2 GCF) with the Spy/Sniper update. In other words, use those instead.

Indeed. Please use a TF2 font or one similar.

Hey, Blue and Orange are my school colors D:
Mine are black and orange, God knows why. I can only assume it's so they can reuse decorations between the pep rallies and Halloween. :sleep:

If you take a look at the more recent 'alpha' pictures i have already started detailing so using my 'painful custom ones' wont be a problem, but i did recently change my textures to the official ones.

Also that applies for my use of comic sans, i have now started using the TF fonts.

Thanks anyway, i hope to get a a2 test on friday euro gameday :D
