Sincs TF2 is a lot in the desert, I was wondering why there aren't any bones or carcasses. It would really add something positive to the enviroment don't you think?

So if someone could make something as shown in the pictures, me an maybe some others would be appreciate it so much! :woot:

There is the one model of a bull's horns.... and I guess you could make a crude skeleton out of brushes if you really needed this.

Middle pic of bones would be very much appreciated from me as well.

Not to mention a bunch of others.

You know, it actually would be kind of cool to have a bully skeleton (full) that you could part in desert areas. Until then, your best bet is the bull skull (seen in 2fort), where you bury the baseplate in the ground.

yes. mapping discussion is more of an appropriate forum than showcase > models forum. where he really isnt showcasing anything.

If no one has made any by the time I finish exams I'll pick up blender and use these as my "I'm learning to model" props :)

Did someone say "I'm learning to model" props?

:D!

What size do you want the ribs to be, human sized, bull sized etc

bull sized probably. something like 64x64x96 would work.

Here's a screenshot of it in my modeller (Wings 3D) with the bone texture (basically just a tiny block of a boney-white colour.

2179 polys (not triangulated yet)
2200 vertices
18 ribs
9 vertebrae

Any last requests before I decide to compile it?

I'll take that as a "COMPILE IT RIGHT NAO!!!1"

Which is the hard part so don't hold your breath :p

Looks great. I'm hoping you (or someone else) will make a texture that looks a little less sparkly clean, though.

Yeah, I think ribs with a little tailbone at the end would be awesome, and maybe a human skull too? Or antelope?

I'd have to remap the UVs which I did really lazily in the first place. Although I do have a slightly grained specular map which may or may not look good with the lazy UV mapping.

Look closely and you can see the collision mesh (which doesn't work but has the right idea in terms of scale) at the bottom of the spine
