Muti-Mapper Projects

Recently there has been a lot of maps that have more than one person working on them. Projects like cp_Caldera are not always updated properly because one mapper can't update the page. This could be done with setting up a usergroups for mappers so they can both edit the page. Just an idea to streamline projects of this nature.

What's a Muti Mapper? =p

when multiple mappers work on the same map

for example: cp_trinity,cp_caldera or cp_furnace (Furnace Creek) are multi-mapper projects

meh, i dont really see it as much of a problem. If mappers are gonna do a group project they should have it organized enough to keep one person up to date to keep the page up to date which keeps us up to date.

Each group should just make sure to dedicate one person to keeping their page up to date and then that person can make the necessary changes to the page as they come through the pipeline. Cause if everyone has access to it, everyone will assume "meh i'll let the other guy do it." Unfortunately when everyone thinks "the other guy will do it", no one does it period....

Whilst I partly agree with this, it is sometimes hard if someone isn't able to for some reason. If the other person has to then it can be hard.

Maybe we can have it like in the download section, whereby the 'authors' can edit the first post. For example, Jim and Bob are making a map.

Jim made the thread but he put it so the authors were 'Jim' and 'Bob' so when Bob wants to edit the post, then he can. Simple?

i think it would never end up with nobody updating it when two have access, i mean, we are pretty much into mapping and are always eager to present our latest and best :D

soooo, yeah, i´m all for it :D

any admin´s opinion on this? is this manageable? plz implement it :D

It would be really cool if someone from the Western hemisphere and someone from the Eastern hemisphere got together to work on something. It would reduce the chances that they were both working on it at the same time.

I'm in the US, but I don't really have enough experience to join in this. Maybe after I get a good map or two completed, I might.

That's actually good if people are in two different time zones since you both won't accidentally update it.

2 editors on the thread is a great idea since 1 person might fallout from the project and it just makes it much easier to use.

StoneFrog, we are not about updating files and latest builds, but rather about thread.

when i finished my pre-a11 of cp_caldera i couldnt update the thread as the person who originally started the thread was out for some days, and when u done smth you really want to show it NOW)
