So i bought killing Floor the other day from steam, and they give the SDK which is Unreal Editor 3 since the game KF works on Unreal Engine 2.5. So i'm curious if anyone here knows how to handle this editor and if so where abouts they learned what they know. I'm taking a game design major at my school and eventually we'll be working in this editor but it'd be super cool to get a head start so i can do more complex things later in the classes.

cheers :)

Ya, I have it with my Unreal Tournament 3, but I haven't really tried it out yet. The first time I opened it my computer froze. But I too want to get the basics to create some fun UT3 maps. That's what I love about UT, you can play against bots, so even if no else wants to play your maps, the bots would love to.

On the side, I think it's awesome that you're in a game design major. It sounds really fun, and I'd love to do that too, but I think I should just stick with the hobby thing.

Anyways, good luck!

There's a few tutorials on 3dbuzz.com, although you have to register first to see them (registration is free).

I also ran across a set on Veoh a while back done by a teacher. There's a few on Vimeo as well.

The one catch to the Unreal Editor 3 is it uses tons of resources (even more then your average Unreal Engine based game), and I from what I've read, it's not possible to scale back it's resource use much, if at all. My computer is probably low~mid range and my CPU (Core2Duo) gets hammered whenever I'm running it.

Pun intended?
