Control Point Clutter Needed!

Welp, I've been at it for about a while now and progress on my map cp_railstop is at full steam ahead.

However, I've hit a bit of a snag in designing the second/fourth CPs. I did a quick cordon compile of the area around it to give you a better idea.

Simply put, I just have NO idea what to place around or behind the control point. It's a freight platform but I think putting more containers would be kind of silly. That building that's already there is the direction the attackers come from, by the way - not the defenders. It's particularly tricky due to the height advantage attackers have (albeit it's a very slight one but it may still be too much).

P.S. The first screenshot is taken from an elevated area where the second spawn room (the one you spawn from when you own the middle CP) emerges into the open.

Is there a non-rotating version of the intel suitcase? Train stations are full of luggage, after all.

I believe there's a non-spinning animation one can use. However, this is more of a freight depot than a transport one. Kind of like badlands/granary.

You could build a roof on two pillars, like this

and add in some crates and/or barrels. Hard to detail something like that when the rest of the map isn't built though. Or at least not visible. There's 2 sides that have structures .. what's happening on the wide open other 2 sides?

The empty side that is directly opposite of the location the first screenshot is taken leads off to the final Control Point (another pathway there exists earlier on in the map).

I'm not entirely sure what to do with the other open end yet. The spawn room that exits overlooking the yard has an alternate exit that will be located down there, but I'm not sure what I want to put there...

Then you should probably first figure out what to do with the open space, fill it all in, then see how much clutter/decoration is needed on your control point. When you add in the open spaces, the rest might come to you naturally.

I think the roof idea would work nicely, except with the attackers approaching from a higher elevation already it may be kind of weird having all these roofs in the way of the point. I want to keep that entire area open (more or less) with as little obstruction as possible to the players above.

Good idea.

Have a train run near to the point, airblasting distance =P

And...well I guess if that's the building the blue team attacks from, a building that the red team can defend from would be the simplest suggestion from my mind.

True enough, but I don't want it to become some drawn-out hillbilly war with both teams turtling in opposite buildings (even though the red one is very small and mostly serves as a way to divide the attackers' methods of entry). :p

You could have different kinds of freight waiting to be moved. Boxes, wooden barrels, metal barrels.

I think Sarge was modeling a forklift. That'd look nice in there (if he'd let you use it.)

Might include a bench or two. Not too many. I mean guys are supposed to be working there.

Might have a fenced in area, a place where slightly more valuable cargo can be locked up until it's time to move it.

Maybe a little standup workbench. Sort of thing a cargo master might lean against while watching others work, and while checking items off an inventory sheet (or doing the days crossword puzzle.)

A little crane, to help move heavy things on/off the trucks/trains using the platform.

A stack of empty pallets.

Just about anything, strapped down ONTO a pallet, indicating it's being shipped somewhere.
