Hello all,

This is a payload map I've been sitting on for ages (Computer problems coupled with college). Recently I've been working on it again (yay summer!), and I intend to take it through.

You may notice from the screenshots that there is no bomb. That's because this is a vertical payload map where the elevator is the payload. The ideas is that red has taken control of one of blu's headquarters. Blu has to make their way back into the building and ride the elevator to the top to reactivate the security system.

Yes it's still in quite early stages. Just thought I'd share. Any ideas, tips, or criticism - feel free.

Thanks,
Backslash

Does Blu have to ride the elevator to the top? Because if they do, there's always the problem with people falling off the elevator accidentally, or due to an airblast or something.

And if the elevator is stuck between floors, wouldn't only demomen and soldiers be able to get up there? (Oh, and scouts too, I guess)

Also, won't the performance outside of the building falllllll a lot with all those windows there? It looks pretty, but I think it would probably cause some people to have unplayable fps.

Good point on the windows, I'm going to play around with func_areaportalwindow and see if I can get anything with that. Also, as I flesh out more floors the design will change - so not all floors will have the same true window structure (though from the outside it will appear that they do).

Also, yes blu rides the elevator to the top, but there are multiple paths to and from each floor for both teams (stairwells, vent system, etc.) and there is an access hole in the top of the elevator, so at most you'd have to go one floor above the elevator and drop down into it. (it's also partially walled in, so unless it's a good blast or you're jumping around you'll probably stay on. I'll have to playtest that i guess.)

I thought you meant Vertigo as the CSS map D:

Haha. No, I'm not a map porting kind of guy. The name is a working title. I like it, but there was another fellow here working on a map called vertigo a long time ago. I searched and found nothing except the original thread, so I think I'm safe for now!:)
