Hey everyone, my name is Jessica!

I have been an avid fan of TF2 since release. I am a bit of an artist and mapper, having made a few for other games and I really wanted to take on the task of making one for my favorite game!

I started this map around 6 months ago, and unfortunately life got hectic and I had to postpone it. I'm happy to say though I have alot more free-time and I am excited to jump back in, but I am a little rusty!

I have the basics down, just researching how to do cliffs and walls, and then going to work on cosmetics, but I had hoped to have some pro-mapper types give me their opinion on what I've got and maybe how to improve it to be one of those maps that people love. I'd really like to see my map make it to the offical steam list.

I'm open to any and all suggestions, so I really hope you guys can offer me some! Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from you. My steamid is: shockraven - feel free to add me.

Welcome to the community. Best you can do is read through tutorials, get a good map alpha going, submit it to a gameday and have members play and test it =)

Also try to linger in steam chat! always a ton of us in there.

Thanks alot!

I just now found a friend of mine that had an older version of my map. Seems I reformatted and lost alot of it, so I'm sad :( But at least its not all gone. I'll post up some pictures once I work on it a bit, its a huge step backwards from what I actually had months ago. That.. and I have to relearn to use the program. Very rusty.

oooooo bummer, well maybe you'll have some ideas this time around you didn't have last time. We look forward to a playable alpha, cause that's when you get more feedback than you ever wanted! :D

yeah the chat room is an awesome place to chill, lots of people, always helpeful.

If you wanna learn how to do cliffs you'll probably wanna check out Youme's tutorial's, and read a couple others too as there are a number of them in the tutorial section.

click me for cliff advice!

If you've been mapping for a while it shouldn't take too long to get back into the flow. It's just keeping up that motivation and time dedication, especially with 'life' as it were. You'll also come to hate the game entities for TF2 if you desire anything intuitive in your maps, particularly if you've mapped pre-source.

Enjoy your stay :)
