Fancy making a player model for portal?

I'm working on a project for portal and one thig I would really like is a male character rather than chell. I had a got at nicking a civ from HL2 and I got him into the game and started reskinning him but they only problem is he wouldn't move, he just floated around in the standard model position(dead upright, arms sticking out)

If anyone here has some free time and would like to help me out by making me a model that would be awesome.
I would like a male model with the following characteristics -
-Either bald or long haired
-wearing a jumpsuit like Chell's (shortsleeve and with short legs)
-those funky leg things Chell has (barefoot)
-a new pair of arms for the first person view (same portalgun though)

Of course I will no doubt have exactly the same problems with any model someone makes for me so what I need on top of that is either re-use chells animations for your model, you to tell me how to tie the HL2 civ's animations to the one they made for Chell or make new animations.
Unless you really want to you don't have to texture anything you might make, I shall do that part myself :)

It will match the requirements but ill draw it first to see if its ok for ya :).

However, I wont do the animations since I dont have time for it but I will skin it. A shit that means a rig. Ahh I HATE RIGS :(



EDIT: You made me curious dude... since I'm a huge portal fan.. what are ya building? :D

:D Hell 2 months would be good, 7 days makes you a god (little g and only if you rest on the last day, lol)

You don't have to do animations as long as you can make it fit chell's animations (or instruct me how to do that)

I'm making a full scale portal expansion pack, new character, new AI, 20 new chambers, new story.....
I've got 15.5 levels in developer textures and half of the very first one textured. I've used the new SDK beta and have now got the bare bones of a mod.

Thats sounds like awesomeness :O Although I think you should find an original thing instead of the original textures with a diffrent story. I think it is really hard to find something original that doesn't remind you of portal at all :) Anyway I'm very interested and I'm gonna do my best to give you the model you expect :)

I'm discussing with a friend who has a little C++ knowledge if we can make some custom stuff. I've already got one soley hammer based new feature in that i've textured and worked out a few puzzles for. I also looked at another mechanic which I think may need some coding, I'll talk to him now about that one (only just remembered it)

How about you add a story where portal ends? You play trough the eyes of the guy I would model, and you see chell laying on the ground with aperture exploded. How cool would that be :D
She dies of course and you steal her gun :D

Its a wee bit late to twist that into the story. Especially as it is set before portal (I think chell was test subject 520 something)

Ahaa ur that far. Nvm than. :D Gonna start tomorrow I think, I hope I get it finished before sunday but I dont want it to feel rushed of course :)

Wooo can't wait to get started.

U know what would be awesome! THat you see npc's using the portal gun too :O Omg imagine that!! In big test chambers you see others completing them when you struggle with the previous one, than something goes wrong and you have to escape etc etc :D

I don't want to rush you, but if you can't wait to start thats great, cos I can't wait to see what you can do.
Now you've mentioned seeing chell... I'm thinking how I can fit that in, I've got a few ideas rolling around inside my head now :)

Ok :D I just decompiled chell to see how many polys I can use, the scale, the mouth etc... Excellent ref. Her face is scary though.
Also im just gonna copy the thingys from the legs since I think you want it to fit 100%

Anyway im gonna draw him first, than you give me green light to make the first polygon ^^

EDIT: I just extracted the textures too. Damn, it has normal maps too etc. Gonna be longer than 3 days I guess :D

Owkeej I noticed that the girl runs around on her toe tips. What is completely retarded tbh but ok.
I tryed to draw it for the dude too but he looks completely gay. Youme do you want to invent a similar device that helps him with the landing from the high jumps, but he lands on his feet (and not his toe tips lol).
Get what I mean? Grtz. Do something in paint or something but im sure you can draw good enough.

The top bit is pretty much the same but the bottom pad is more like the sole of a shoe, I think the curved spring should probably get wider at the botom just before it turns into the sole.

Love it, he looks true to the original chell and yet still unique :)

Yea i used chell as an overlay to make the proportions right. And added muscles, more shoulders, lower hips and male face. Well that's what anatomy told me :p

This looks suprisingly like an orange map.... Is there something we should know?
After a quick look around your website I notice that concept is hosted there, but not linked to, I hope that you will get round to adding it in at some point.
