What's the most useless class in TF2?

Ok the only reason I ask is because I was thinking of a VIP style map.

Wanted to limited the worst class to VIP status and make only one of them so that he can drive the truck.

Then all the other players guard it then at the end it opens up so that attacking team can get into the truck to get him - thus he's have to run like mad to make it into the safe zone.:p

Your question shouldn't be "most useless in TF2" because there is no such thing.
The answer to the question you SHOULD be asking is: engineer.

In such a map there is no location that the VIP team needs to be defending, so the engineer has little purpose.

Essentially a remake of "hunted" from TFC, eh? Give it a shot. :)

I don't care if TF2ers think that such an escort map would lead to "grifers". Let me tell you something, guys. That engineer in charge of defending your intel room could grief. The scouts who are supposed to cap the point could grief. Hell, the entire BLU team on a payload map could mutiny and refuse to go anywhere near the cart, if they wanted to. If it really becomes a problem, that's what votekick and round resets are for. Griefers will always be around (frankly I think they're pretty rare in TF2 compared to Valve's other games), and it's a childish reason to discourage mappers from pursuing such gametypes.

There's already a plugin for this, and yes, the Engineer IS the class that's used for the VIP.

ETA: I don't have a link, I just remember playing it on a server I regularly play on.

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of this question unless you plan to limit classes to one each. Why not just let the VIP choose his class and have done?

Iwas thinking about the VIP on TF2, if you make it okay it would be nice... It could be a new gameplay fot TF2

he also started a VIP hunted map a remake of the TFC version that ive seen on here somewhere.

im still working on my remake of TFC Hunted but kinda got put on hold untill now due to PC problems.

only thing im still not keen on is doing the displacements for the escape Part , doing the ground is fine its just rock faces but i supose the more i practice it the better ill get at it lol

If the Hunted could choose his own class, he could be a soldier or heavy, and even when alone hold his own rather well.

Is that a problem because it is counter-concept for the VIP formula or because you think it would be bad for gameplay? Because though the possibility exists that it could be bad for gameplay, I don't think that's necessarily true.

I just think that the essence of VIP is protecting one person, and that without the team there to protect you, the assassins deserve the win. If ou were a heavy or soldier, you could take out the assassins say if there are 2-3 of them or just rocket jump away to safety. I think being an Engineer makes you need body guards, which is what the game mode is for.

..Or go scout and just doublejump/energy drink his way around the defenses.

scouts would be to over powering in a VIP map for either Team.

we setup the plugin with the same classes as in TFC

Hunted

Engiee = Hunted
Heavy
Soldier
Medic

Assasins

Snipers

but we did enable 1 pyro on the Assasins side

also you could install the TF2Classic Plugin which will enable the old Nades and all but some ppl will either like it or hate it.

ive installed the plugin on a private server and made a concmap like in TFC, it plays well but you can only use scout with the concussion nades.
its fun but needs alot more concmaps before its worth it

TFC's setup for the teams was pretty good, although I think the bodyguards should have been limited to only 1/2 HWGuys.

i tell ya what would be fantastic is if someone made a Hunted Skin and Model :). ive read alot of topics on forums and pictures that ppl have started on the Hunted Model and all but havent seen nothing come of it.

just the case of modeling something for the Civilian Class i think

I read somewhere that they tried hunted on TFC with an Engy as VIP, all bodyguards as Pyros, and all assassins are spys. Sounded fun.
