A leak! A leak!

Well curses, I've done all this work on laying out my map and i've finally gotten to putting the sky on and i have a leak.

Now I tried to fix it by enclosing the whole thing in a big box, just to test how the sky would look in the thing but it didnt fix the leak. How is that possible?

I did the Load Pointfile thing but the red line just ran the length of hte map and pointed at my skybox. I checked all around the area but couldnt find any leaks there. Now when i tried ot Load Pointfile again it asks me to select it from the list, it says it cannot find the one for my map.

I am wondering if my map is just FUBAR and i need to start all over again or what.

Bah and to make this even more strange, while most of the sky is just that hall of mirrors effect, there is one section of sky that is stable. HOWEVER its not textured like the sky should be, its instead textured like the giant box i have around the map. Now how does that make any sense?

Yeah gonna have to do that i suppose, ill make it look less crappy later tonight and load it somewhere.

EDIT: Uh until further notice I am just an idiot. Got a new pointfile line and i think it actually points to a leak this time. Hopefully the fix is pretty easy.

Ok well I still may be an idiot but here's a new problem...

*** Error: Skybox vtf files for skybox/sky_dustbowl_01 weren't compiled with the same size texture and/or same flags!
Can't load skybox file skybox/sky_dustbowl_01 to build the default cubemap!
*** Error: Skybox vtf files for skybox/sky_dustbowl_01 weren't compiled with the same size texture and/or same flags!
Can't load skybox file skybox/sky_dustbowl_01 to build the default cubemap!

I am getting this error and I am not sure why. I have tried several different TF2 skies and they all give errors.

Ok and the Load Pointfile thing is still bugging me. If I click on Load Pointfile and it just opens a window asking me to choose a .lin file (none of them having the same name as my map) does that mean there are no leaks? I am not getting any leaked errors in the compile either.

I think you have no leaks mate, the compiler would say: leaked! if something leaked. The skybox errors are normal and if you dont have a pointfile to load I think you have no leak at all!

So, great!! :D

Do you have any overlays in the map? I've had them leak and prevent compiles for no good reason in the past.

i had a this in a map and it was a brush that was corrupt i think it was offgrid and going into infinitie.
When i putted a box around it it still leaked my pointfile was outside the map.
And gordon bounds fixed it and deleting some burshes never find out wich brush exactly was it...
Glad that it was just a map i made for the fun.

Naw i dont have any overlays, I've done very little except make the general outlines.

I am definetly hopeful that there are no leaks, but if thats the case then I am not sure why I cannot get the skybox to work. Haven't had time to mess with it just recently, hopefully I can take another crack at it this weekend.
