King of the Hill
Waste reinvisioned as King of the Hill! King of the Hill is an exciting and rapidly growing new game mode. To win, teams must capture and hold the center control point for a total of three minutes. If you lose the Control Point, your progress is not lost. Reclaiming the Point will resume the countdown from where it left off. In Waste, teams are given multiple entrances to the central area, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Objective:
Capture and hold the single Control Point for a cumulative total of three minutes.

Other Notes:
Progress will be halted if you lose the Control Point. Reclaiming the Control Point will resume your progress.

INSTALLATION:
Unpack the contents of the .rar into your tf directory. Keeping the folder system intact will allow you to see the intro movie and the thumbnail in the Map List.

Objective:
Escort the payload to the enemy base. Stand near the payload to make it move.

Other Notes:
Both teams can push the cart. The payload moves faster as more teammates stand near it.

Huh?

Anyhow, I like KOTH. I like Waste. Seems like a good combination to me.

Seems like you never really knew what to actually do with Waste. I want a CTF version more than any of the other ones.

Well, nobody plays Custom Arena anyways.

CTF just would not work at all.

Really, I just wanted to have some fun with KOTH, which I have taken an interest in.

I hope you have done koth correctly, because I still havn't seen any (IMO) good KotH modes. (entity wise)

That's probably a NO.

I prefer the "Guild Wars" style: You get points every X seconds if you hold the cp. the first one to have X points wins. Or the team with most points after 10 minutes wins.

This also fixes the HUD, because you can show both teams scores at the same time.

EDIT: Check you waste map in dropbox.
And after running through the maps, the noentry doors in the spawn seem very dark

Are these not the exact same thing?

"First to 3 minutes" preforms exactly the same as "whoever gets the most time in 6 minutes", except the before allows the game to end when it knows that there is no possible way a team can catch up (50%).

Time is pretty much the same thing as points, except I don't need to use ugly game_texts

Doesn't the other team have to revert the capture to start their 3 minutes?

A points system like he's talking about is closer to domination than time-based.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a reverse one-flag CTF version, if we're tossing out suggestions. (We don't get enough of those, where you have to push the flag into the enemy base to capture it.)

I mean, there's already a nice central area for the flag to spawn... probably would just have to shorten up the bases a bit. I'd figure inside the double-doors would be the capture room, instead of being deeper in. Perhaps have the water route, instead of being a drop-down hatch, instead be a ramp up inside the base?

mine is set up like Garbage Day. Don't see any problems with it.

Except I use custom announcements, and the spawn time starts at 20 seconds and reduces over time. at 4 minutes into the round it's instaspawn.

Let's see how it works out :)

This version addresses many issues, and new additions, such as a dynamic respawn timer. It's defaulted at 20 seconds, but gradually decreases as the battle rages on. At 4 minutes it will be instant respawn.

-Removed BLU team's extra ammo pickup
-Fixed health pickup not spawning under the CP
-Added dynamic respawn times

ya dude, KOTH waste rocked. I loved it, freakin never had such a long and equally intense firefight. I couldn't keep my gun loaded fast enough to shoot off all the baddies flooding in :(
