I'm new to mapping, but I can't get enough of the work that you and others do. Custom maps blow the stock maps out of the water on TF2. So, I wanted to try my hand at it. I'm just glad there's a place I can come and learn all this. Thank you all in advance because I'm sure you'll be answering a lot of my questions.

Welcome to the community =) If you haven't already opened Hammer give it some love, it has a quick but steep learning curve... but once you make your first boxed room you are well on your way to mapping levels! =)

Welcome! If you're new to mapping be sure to check out the tutorials found on this site as well as the Valve developer wiki. There are tons of great resources out there to get you started.
