My map is crashing others, but not myself...

So, pl_gravelpit has been released for some testing, and it seems that it randomly crashes other people on the server, but it's never crashed me. I've pakratted all the custom files in, so I don't think it's client-side, but I have no idea how to fix it. Has anyone else had a problem like this before? If so, how did you fix it?

You should've pointed out that it usually occurs in the death corner between... A-B was it?

It was C-B. But, as I said, I've never crashed on the map... Others can play the map, but they seem to crash randomly, mainly around the C>B area. It ends up giving the "X left the game, X timed out" message.

I sincerely hope you didn't try to compile the decompiled Valve version  You could try moving the map & textures to a temporary folder. Download the map from a server and see what happens.

there are a few thoughts I can come up with for this.

-what processor/ram/video combo are you running vs the people that are crashing? I rn my maps on a 5 year old computer and a new one to make sure that there are no processor limitations on what I come up with in a map.

-this was more of a distinct problem with HL1 due to severe engine limitations, but still exists with the current one. If there is a specific area that people crash in, it could be that you have created an area with too many world brushs and/or entity brushes. I havent seen this particular map, so i cant be specific. But there are limits beyond what that nearly meanless processing scale gives. HL1 had a much better measure of polys with an actual counter instead of the percentage crap they have now (havent played with the tool, maybe there is a counter instead).

-It could be a game play provlem in conjnction with the area. what were the players doing there? what were the other players doing? were they always looking a particular direction when something happened?

-are there any timed entity items that effect that area?

hope the questions prompt something that helps.

Well, I have downloaded it from the server, so it can't be that.

...Also, yeah, I did decompile and recompile it. :blushing:

Well, they were all looking straight ahead, just out of the door into the cap B area. That was before they timed out. It was pretty funny just looking at half of red standing there, not moving... But...

I don't have any timed entities, but would something that's triggered cause it? Because I have the cap B building set to break once the second cart reaches there, as well as setting off particle effects.
