Hi,

I am looking for a modeler to make 1 or more custom models for my new map 'Jump Future'. I know people here aren't keen on jump maps but i love playing them and making them. I hope you will help me out.

Here is a map with the 3 items i need created. The one i need most is the L bend glass pipe. I need a model cause this makes hammer so laggy and the faces fullness is HUGE with this in it. I will need to use this model a lot!!!

If your not satisfied i have released some teaser pictures of my new jump map. I hope this will be enough for you to make these models for me:

I can't make it using displacements:
1. it doesn't look as smooth and as good as using the quarter torus.
2. i need it to be hollow and made of glass.

Reasons to use displacements:

1: You can make a hollow glass tube with bends from displacements.
2: they will look smoother than brushes.
3: They have a lower performance cost than objects.
4: the collision meshes on objects are limited, trying to smoothly wrap collision models around a tube would take alot of col.objects and most likely you'll need quite a few models to work around that limit.
5: you can make displacments and not count on a modeller doing it for you.
------------
make a cube, hollow it. delete the 2 end caps.
miter the corners.
select all the faces inside and out of the tube, create displacement.
clip in half lengthwise in top and side view. move the corner verts in some to 'round out the tube' a bit.

Then select displacement and subdivide. Boom, inside outside glass tube.

For nice smooth bends don't use a 90* corner, but use 2-3 displacement tubes to make the bend.

---------
It's best to make one 'tube' first. Turn it to displacement but DON'T subdivide yet.

Copy/paste it everywhere you want it to go, snap all verts so the corners all line up. When you get the full tube system built, select all displacements that match up and subdivide them all at once. (will keep them flowing as one smooth tube).

Probably best to add an extra tube to every pipe end, when you subdivie all ends stay square. When you are done you can delete the extra end tubes and your final product will have round ends.

Emm, ok. Well I don't think i can do all that, but if anyone here was to send me a 64 diameter glass hollow bend that would be awesome.
