A very promising game, AYIM comes out on steam in about a week. It is your typical platformer, besides the fact that you can rotate the whole level in 90 degree intervals. The art style is extremely unique. Real photos make up all of the objects and textures in the game, and the sound is all done by one guy's voice. That sounds very unappealing, but is surprisingly polished. It has a very Portal-like feel to it, because you keep your momentum, even after rotating the level. Also, the music is quite catchy. Besides the weird design of the main character, it looks like a great game! Try the demo out.

I'm just frustrated that they got the idea out there before I did. I had planned on making something like this eventually :cursing:.

I swear I've already played exactly that game.

Was it an IGF finalist?

I think it might have been, but it wasn't finished then, supposedly. Now this is the finished version.

taken from the official site:

"Many challenges must be overcome within the beautiful homage to nature, until a snake bite casts the character into a world, transformed with abstract challenges."

So, I guess that's because of a snake bite? And I have no clue what they used for textures there. It says that it is all real-world photos
