It has become apparent that despite automating the map cycle and posting very specific requirements for submission, some individuals still manage to fail. So I'm asking for anyone who has the time and desire to play through our gamedays and deal w/ any submission that are unplayable. Drpepper and myself remain quite busy w/ other aspects of the group. Youme does his share of posting and managing our contests. Our other officers have since gone awol or busy w/ rl stuff. So if you're interested in helping out your fellow mappers (and me, lol), just sign up here. And as MrAlBobo pointed out, we're probly gonna need more than 1 person here.

i don't think that just one person is a good idea, you should give admin to 3 or 4 people then there are very good odds that someone will be there at all times to deal with any problems...

now...if you are asking for someone to manage the server, do some uploads, organize it and test everything beforehand to ensure it works, I could do that...

I just think forcing a single person to be present the entire gameday is a bad idea...

I was thinking about multiple peeps, edited the op to clarify. Uploads and organizing stuff I can handle. This is just a small set of individuals who can be present during our testing days in case any of the maps fail to meet minimum standards.

As I stated in game and in chat, I've already decided to take it upon myself to perform a quality control check on every map submitted to make sure it's working properly (Refuge failed there). So put me on the list for whatever this is :p

Everyone was pretty unhappy with gamegrid too... just too large and open, but I'm not sure what we should do there. I'd be against outright denying any functional map based on the look or layout... perhaps allow a map to be skipped if decided by 2/3 of the server? or all the officers on the server? something...

I wouldn't mind stepping in just to change maps etc, the only problem is I could only get on Saturdays, and even then I can't always get there. I try my best though.

I'm more than happy to offer my services. If I'm ever at my computer I'm on the forums, so I could most certainly help with putting up the order, and definitely am down to help run through the maps before gameday. As you know I-D I've got some experience with working with servers, FTP, etc., and in working in tandem with a couple more guys we could totally split the gamedays into shifts to be on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly! I'm almost always on during gamedays for a few hours after 12:00 CST.

You'll need a separate forum for gameday officers. Official policies need to be set.

For example, if I see on the schedule my map is set for 2:30 and i have personal crap to take care of, I'll make sure I'm there at 2:30 (if I can). If you skip fail maps willy nilly, it'll completely screw the schedule.

I'm willing to help, but as far as actual gameday time, I'm hard pressed to make the full rotation both days. I can typically be around for a couple of hours on Saturdays though

Sadly I've only been able to play on Gameday for about 30 min...

Just curious, but if a map doesn't meet specs... and you skip it, doesn't that throw the whole schedule off? Or do you run the next map extra long?

I usually work Saturday/Sunday, but I'd be more than willing to host and/or help go thru the map submissions on Thursday or Friday with a couple other admins and determine their playability. This would eliminate the skipped map dilemma.

I've kinda been doing that anyway, to get screenshots for the map banners.

Also, as I make them for my own servers, would it be helpful to upload the BZ2 files to the redirect server, if they aren't already on there?

I have already volunteered before (in the gameday failures thread) to help with admin.

I know I'm not a donator but I'm not getting any benefit out of it (don't plan to admin out of gameday). I'm usually around for at least half of each gameday and usually towards the end when the crowd begins to thin and it's harder to find an admin.

If nothing more I can be a back-up admin incase something goes wrong and no other admin is present.

I've also offered to help out with the gamedays before, and will happily put my name down again. I can be around at least one of Saturday and Sunday most weekends, and quite often both.
