Hello All,
I have posted a few comments so far, just joined a couple weeks ago and thought I would finally introduce myself. I am married and spend most of my days working for "the man." Farely stressfull job, so I love the zen-like experience of working on a custom TF2 map in Hammer when I get home. Since I must devote a substantial amount of my free time with my lovely wife and since I can't get Hammer installed on my uber secured work laptop, mapping is slow going. At least this site isn't blocked (yet) so I can read the forums when I have a slow day (rarely). :thumbup1:
I am getting close to releasing a beta of my 5 cp map cp_2Skyscraper. Nothing too ground breaking about it, except that it is multileveled (final cp per side is on third floor in back of each sides skyscaper, next to last cp on second floor towards front of each sides skyscaper, and center cp on ground level in courtyard between each skyscaper). To get to cps you have to use a number of different stairwells and/or elevators. I most say though after looking at some of the other members maps I feel a bit outclassed (you are a ninja Vilepickle), but am pressing on and hope everyone will enjoy the end product. Its my first custom map ever (and I have been rocken the online FPS genre since Quake) so don't laugh.
As for playing TF2, I have gotten a little rusty since I started mapping, but I am still a rather proficient team-player. That is I use a MIC!!!!, switch roles for what my team needs, sacrifice my life and/or points for the team (ex: if you ever see me on 2Forts with a good sentry defense you will notice me dying a lot as I stealth into the intel room as a Spy, zap one or two sentries and grab the intel desperately trying to move it inch by inch out of the room), and basically keep my eye on the prize of having my team win. I am most partial to soldier and engineer, but will play just about anything needed; although I really never play Pyro or Sniper.
