Howdy all. I've jumped into mapping back with CS and had a few semi successful maps (none ever made it published, stuck just short of finished and got burned out) and have the basics down pretty well.

So here I am, playing TF2 with my Eve buddies, and we get to talking about old maps we used to play in old games, and I started talking about how I used to like building maps for CS.

Well, long story short, I am an almost playable (90% done) map that's about to go up on our server for some alpha testing before I go back for the fine tuning. My problem is, I know I'm not nearly as good as a lot of people out there when it comes to finishing, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to come on board and help with the final touches (textures, lighting, ambience)

I'll get some screenies up of what I have in the next day or two. It's a simple Arena/KOTH/CP map, very easily converted from one type to the other. Be warned I really suck at figuring out the textures!

You consider textures, lighting, and ambiance to be final touches?

These are the things that take the most time!

I would say yes, but... The texturing in this map will be suprisingly simple, I will be able to handle most of the big stuff, it's more the final touches that take a map from "okay" to "great". Texturing of the buildings and interactables will be done by me during the final build process. The lighting aspects will more than likely just require fine tuning and shouldn't need massive alterations.

I do expect this map, when complete, to be one of the most popular maps in its catergory in TF2. And this is not just me saying this because I am building it, there's high hopes for this one.

cp_orange_x3 is the most played custom map by a long shot.

I'm going to make a map, and I promise you it will be the most popular map in its category of TF2. Admittedly, there aren't a whole lot of maps shaped like the gaping maw of the goatse man, but of them mine will be the most popular.
