Lighting Issues

I stole the valve entities for lighting from hydro, and it looks fine outdoors... but inside I either get fullbright

or pitchblack, depending on the angle viewed. A few other brushes do this too. Is there a tutorial, entity or field from one of hydro's entities I need to use to fix this?

That sounds like you are using textures that are suppose to be on models (hence "model" in the name). Is that the case?
