# Modified critical hit calculation. Overall, critical hit chance is now much more recent-performance based:

* Base chance is now 2% (was 5%).
* Bonus range based on damage done changed from 0%-15% to 0%-10
* Damage range required for bonus changed from 0-1600 to 0-800

# Reduced random damage spread applied to all player damage from +-25% to +-10%
# Slight reduction (improvement) of the minigun's spread
# Increased flare direct hit damage from 20 to 30
# Rewrote Natascha's slowdown code to be more consistent
# Sniper rifle now supports Crit Boost state like all other weapons (i.e. Kritzkrieg makes all shots critical hits)
# Stealthed spies are no longer able to pickup the intelligence. They must uncloak first
# Increased soldier primary ammo count from 16 to 20

- More cvars for comp players
- custom crosshair support
- View Model can now be moved/hidden
- "Open Loadout" bind now directly opens the loadout of the class you're currently playing.
NOTE: You must go into options and REBIND it to use it

HOLY CRAP that is massive. Balances out gameplay soo much. I mean, it just made those bs kills less likely! :D

And CRAP I can't pick up intel while decloaking :(. That makes spycapping harder.

You don't have to fully decloak before picking it up.

In fact, if you time it right, it should be no different than picking it up while cloaked

Haven't played yet, but this looks sweet...

I wonder if the Crit recalculations have something to do with the scout update.

Actually that's sad. Since it's cause so many people would mis-understand the concept. D: I'm glad for that though, I hope it reduces the amount of times I get the "why can't I hit them!" feeling.

Why did they did it? Flare is suposed to make less damage than the shotgun. If it makes 30 direct damage + burn damage where's the point of using shotgun?

Shotgun does more damage at closer range and can do higher amounts of damage more quickly?

I don't want to see a secret scout nerf, but rather, a blatant one! They're getting way too annoying with 200 damage shots.

faster fire rate, works underwater, fires instantly rather than taking time to travel etc, loads of reasons to use the shotty but I still maintain the flaregun is the gun they should have given the pyro at the start of the game.

MuffinMan, they were whining with good reason. Crits were not dependant largely on a player's recent performance, but on a larger scale. So if you got a crit 5 mins ago that resulted in a short killing spree, it would increase your crit chance and loop around and around. I'm still all for nocrits, but this makes pub play much more bearable.

It's tempting, but even though I disagree, I'm not even going to argue with you, since any discussion about crits is guaranteed to derail the topic completely. :p

Noticed something wierd today (might be completely unrelated to this update but I only just noticed it) my average damage as a sniper is over 35,000 whilst my most damage as sniper is only 2000 in comparison.... now even a basic understanding of averages tells me that the average cannot possibly be higher than the maximum value, leaving me with slightly incorrect stats.
I don't even play sniper!?!
