Yay for gigabyte Moboards!

Dirty cheap and just as much power as I need. I'll never use 2 VGAs or Firewire or any fancy stuff.... just the need the more bang for my buck as I can get. Also I need to remind you that I live in Brazil and PC parts here are as axpensive as it gets!

nice price/quality ;)

Still I think for compiling you could better have taken an quadcore (you will really feel the diffrence)

And I tink the 8800gt is around the same price as 9600gt but is faster :/

btw do you follow a gamedesign college? :p 1 meter of gamedesign books :)

Magic carpet FTW! And I have the original, Magic Carpet Plus and The Netherworlds.

As for the processor I really was on a budget and could not afford a Quad. Besides, not many games fully support quads so it's not a big loss.

As for the VGA you have to remember that I buy this stuff in Brazil, and the 8800's here are a tad little more expensive because fewer units are brought in and the retailers increase the price.

As for the gamedesign books I'm more of a freelancer game designer. Here in Brazil the game development is starting to take shape. I'm more of a scholar in the subject. I have a book called "Videogame arte" (that translates to videogame art) that you can check out here (warning: portuguese).

Heh, thats kinda funny because I am out of the loop at the moment for the same reason, mine was not as extreme of an upgrade, just got a new Mobo, but that led to a series of problems and now 4 days later I am still working on getting the kinks out...
