Interesting encounters with pre-famous community members

Everyone starts out as just another face in the TF2 content creation community, but after a while some "make it big" and become famous for the work they've done. That could mean they got something in-game, or just made something that got popular in the TF2 community.

Have you ever looked back on your history, and realized you had a number of encounters with these people? It's not uncommon, and if we're being honest nothing too special, but these moments might stick out to you for one reason or another. Whatever the case, share them in this thread!

I'll give some examples to start us off.

- Before getting his models in-game and becoming staff, Diva Dan collaborated with me to make a MvM map. It was good, but I didn't really hold up my end of the project and it made the whole thing suffer.
- Before making PD Meme Machine and TF2Craps, former user Nicky said he'd enjoy going on a date with me. Granted, this was in a joke thread, so it wasn't very serious, if at all.
- This was long after they became famous, but I almost collaborated with Petachepas and (If I'm remembering this right) Void to make a lightning gun for Pyro. It unfortunately fell apart as we all had other things to do.

I saw Idolon at a grocery store in Ohio, 2012. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen packs of corn in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the corns and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Had the pleasure of meeting UEAKCrash at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny.

I get your intentions with this thread, but I don't think it's a good idea to label users here as famous (and, by extension, non-famous). We're a pretty small community and everybody knows each other, so being "famous" is really just clout.
