Prop_dynamic disappearing

Hello,

I'm pretty new to mapping. I've alreaddy gotten a good grasp with laying out the brushes, etc. Now I'm struggling to create a door out of props(models). It seems like, every time I put a prop_dynamic into a trigger/nodraw brush it disappears. E.g. the ressuply locker or some gates I've parrented with nodraw to open.

I really appreciate any advice. Thank you. :)

These are the first 3 things I can think of, but it's really hard to figure out if you don't post any screenshots. Also is everything named properly (with valid characters and no spaces)?

My biggest advice though if you are still a beginner is to just worry about the barebones of how things work before adding any details or pretty stuff (like prop doors). But if it's necessary, check this video out:

Thanks for replying.

That's exactly the tutorial I was using and I believe that I've done everything correctly. I've attached some screenshots so you can see the problem.

Btw, if I move the prop outside the trigger brush. It appears.

it sounds like you didn't turn the trigger brush into a func_regenerate entity

I think that is not the issue. The same problem occures when a prop and a trigger entity colide. For example capture zone with a control point prop.

Could you please post in the compile log?

Not sure why you'd use the "Global Entity Name" field in this case; try clearing it. I never used it myself so I can't say it's the problem, but it's currently the only inconvenience that I find within provided setup. I'd appreciate if you also included the compile log just in case it's something else and hopefully reported.

Thank you, It worked. I just removed the global entity name. Don't even know why I used it.

Thanks a lot :)

For future reference: If you ever forget to turn a trigger brush into an entity, the trigger brush will be visible and solid in-game.
