I'm not one of those people with an insanely good who upgrades it even three months. this one will stay the same for like 3 years completely unchanged. what was good is i picked up so many shifts at work over the Christmas holidays that my bank account only when down like 500 bucks. :D

Check this out, this is my project for today. i have to make my Ethernet cable form two short ones. this involves soldering 8 wires together and not changing the twist on the wire and not making the wire to thick to close the gap. D:

only 3 gig of ram? not going with a 64bit os i guess.

im huge fan of AMD, but I have to admit that the new intel chip is damned impressive. Too bad they are way over priced.

@Pink Panther: No i'm using a cheap ;) version of xp. not available in 64bit.
@eyefork: Money i would have to buy one: cheap ones are $30AU good ones are like $70 and have to buy all the bits and just because it looks shocking doesn't mean it won't work. edit: i tested it and it does work :D

the i7 has a far better price then similar core 2 quad intel cpus, I can't help but wonder how well it will overclock with all these new features though

The Mobo comes with a sticker say don't set dimm above 1.65V of you could dmg your CPU. however DDR3 uses less power then DDR2 so the voltage that count as overclocking on ddr2 are lower on ddr3. also im getting my CPU for $265US which is cheap in Oz.

I made my computer today. Booted it up and one of the fans on my graphics card is hitting a plastic support beam causing a clicking noise apart from that everything is fine. Any suggestion on what to do with my graphics card, claim warranty fix it with a file myself in like 10 seconds.

I'd rather do a quick fix then wait for a new one to arrive. :p

Nice rig. I'm thinking of upgrading from a G80 8800GTS to a 4870 myself. :)

Yeah the extreme series of Quad are insanely overpriced. You can get same performance overclocking the Q6600 which costs around 120 $

Ok my computers up and running, I fixed myself. It's idling at 45C. load takes it up 20 or so. According to a number of forums i have visited this is normal.

As for my DIY Ethernet cable, it transfers at <10Mb/s. so I'm going to have to buy one:(
