Skybox question

Right now on my map my skybox is just a box around my map. I know that I shouldn't have this in later versions of my map but I will change it so that the skybox wraps around the map neater when I go into beta. I don't want to make the skybox neater now because I don't want to change something and then also have the change it later so I just keep the skybox as a box. However, I don't know weather or not this is a good idea to do it like this or I should instead make the skybox wrap around the map now. If anyone could tell me what they think and why they think that then that would be helpful.

Early on the skybox should be tightly sealing the map, if the skybox is simply a cube with a map inside it the map will have slower compile and be horrible for framerate thanks to how Source calculates visibility. A big part of mapping is changing parts of your map, and moving/editing the skybox is no different, at times it can be a pain, yes, but in the long run you and playtesters will appreciate it.

I would recommend starting with clean brushwork now (including a properly sealed skybox). The cleaner your brushwork is now, the easier it will be to make changes and improve the map later. If you start with nasty and ugly brushwork now, you're only going to end up hating your past self for not using better brushwork. You have to clean up your brushwork at some point, and there's no time like the present.
