Where is a good source for TF2 Cosmetics assets?

mods.tf doesn't always work (like it will say I can't replace any items. case and point http://mods.tf/mods/1245/ )
gaming banana is just reskins
gary's mod has so many useless hexs the good ones get drowned out.

Just look at the "ye olde workshoppe" project https://medieval.tf2maps.net/ not even half of these awesome items were uploaded anywhere but on the tf2 workshop. So there is no way to download them (that I know of)

cause they're all in the vpks under Team Fortress 2/tf/tf2_misc_dir.vpk (for models) and tf2_textures_dir.vpk for textures

sfm also has a bunch of the cosmetics and aren't in vpks, but its an outdated collection

as for non-offical ones, I guess check the sfm workshop?

I mean some of the unpublished ones. I know how to find the ones that are in game. look at my example in the first post. look how many awesome cosmetics there are and you cant even download them to make gmod hexes or anything
