First things first:
Map Name - koth_eat_ash_a1 (Totally was called that the whole time)
Project Type - Open
Map Stage - Alpha
Credit - I'd appreciate it :)

I decided that I wanted to mess with the hammer editor, so I started out by watching the tutorial by Crash then started to just mess around in it to see what I could make. Since I'm not to experienced with Hammer there's a bit of sloppy work here and there but I've played on it with friends and it seems alright to play on. I'm not expecting anything out of this but my friends think it's a cool map so I thought others would too and might have some ideas of their own.

Uh oh, looking at the screenshot this should not take 1,5 hours to compile. 1,5 minutes would be an expected time.

You need to turn the cylinders into entities called func_detail which is just a brush that the visibility engine ignores.

Select the cylinder and all the railings and such and press CTRL + T and then type in func_detail. This should enormously cut down the compile time.

I was thinking that but I didn't know if by doing that it'll load to much of the map causing players to lag, I'll compare both like I should've in the first place instead of just assuming

Alright I made some things including the towers func_details so let's hope it runs well for others, not like it's that much of a highly detailed map anyways
