I'm just plain missing p4lib.dll

I'm trying to run the mdl compiler(studiomdl), but I don't even have p4lib.dll in my steam folder! I tried to find a download online for it, but haven't found anything.

Can someone either upload it for me or point me to another program I can use to turn smd files into usable ones?

Make sure steam is running and check the folder ;) (works for me in X:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<username>\sourcesdk\)

don't worry about this warning, if it's not compiling it's not because of it.

All modellers get the same error. Show me your .qc and your compile log

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\mmik21\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin

I also did a search starting from my main steam folder, in case there was one in another random folder for some reason, but didn't come up with a single result. Am I supposed to run a certain program, or install something, for it to be created?

I don't have either, spike, because I don't know what I'm doing. I have a test model compiled as an smd, which all I did was create a box and export it. I didn't change any settings or anything, I'm simply trying to get something to work before I try to make a model.

If I run studiomdl, it just crashes without giving an error message, and if I drag my smd onto it, it gives me the message that it can't load the p4lib.dll, then crashes.

It seems there's a bunch of stuff I don't know about that you need in order to have a working tf2 model. :\
