This year I'm going back to basics: A straightforward, no-nonsense, no gimmick KOTH map.

I won't be able to participate due to my busy schedule.
Good luck to the rest of the participants!

I find it incredible that normally I can't plan a layout for the life of me, yet just today I opened MS Paint and whipped up a plan for my submission in a minute - such is the power of the 72hr Jam!
As for my map, it's gonna be CTF like last time, though last time I screwed it up hard. I'll make it up this jam :)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention - I'll be away during the Jam so I'd like to start my map early on Friday 19th.

A quick question about mapping. Can I use /ABS_GametypeLibrary/ or does everything need to be made from scratch?

I've just started mapping and i'm incredibly excited to give this a shot.

It's recommended that you learn how to do it from scratch before you pull from the gametype library, but you don't need to.

I didn't, and look at me now! I'm okay at mapping, and it's only taken me four-and-a-half years!

Yes, we highly reccomend using ABS and the Gametype Library! You can also prepare any other gamemode logic you'd like to ahead of time; the only thing you cannot do before the Jam is build actual level geometry. You can plan geometry in hammer even, but you'll have to rebuild it all at the start of the Jam if you do.

Quick question,

I’m new to the jam stuff, if I make a map, does it need to be finished and fully textured? Or can I submit a still WIP map?

I'd like to do 72hr but from 7PM July 26th, 2019 to 7PM July 29th, 2019 AEST,
(That's Friday to Monday [July 26th 9AM - July 29th 9AM GMT] a week before the official Jam),
I wish I could do the Jam at the same time as everyone else but I'm camping that weekend.

Still, I can't wait to make what I've got planned and see what everyone else makes!

I have no clue what i should do for the jam, I feel like making some really twisted/depressing thing because that's how I feel right now, but I doubt anyone wants to see that... Might as well make nothing
