Last event got a little crazy with the scheduling...

This event , Everyone who submit a map get a 30 minute slot. If more then 10 people submit a map, then every has a 20 minute slot. No one needs to rush out half baked maps to get the "good" slots anymore.

Now if you have a map that is closing in on "Final" status, I will consider that map having a 40 minute (if 10 or more submit, 30 minute) slot. Still counts towards the 10 maps.
Event will begin at:

Central European: 8:00PM
UK: 7:00PM
Eastern: 2:00PM
Central: 1:00PM
Mountain: 12:00PM
Western: 11:00AM

Event will take place at:

US TF2Maps.net Server: 72.233.93.233:27015

Please submit all maps by 4 PM EST on Friday

since now there are no more set number of slots there isn't a need to rush, take your time to create your maps so we don't need to make last minute changes (however I will still be willing to delay the deadline if a last minute glitch is discovered.)

this time can i have an early slot - better for my own timezone, and avoids a drop off in attendance.
cp3 is really hard to test with fewer than 6 a side. and i really need to know if it needs more cover and/or more access routes

Another suggested fix for dropping player counts at the ends: move the gameday earlier but an hour or so, its a 7pm start in the UK and most of europe is ahead of GMT meaning most from the mainland will have the gameday starting at 8, so it ends well into sunday morning for them. Unless there is a very good reason for it not starting any earlier I can't see why it was ever moved back an hour.

I as a moderator here and an admin on the server now post a new rule, which no other mod here will overrule until they can prove to me that they ahve fixed the issue.
This rule is: No arena maps in gameday

This issue MUST be fixed before anyone is allowed to submit arena maps to future gamedays and it MUST be proven to me that it is fixed before people are allowed to submit arena maps to gameday.



(I appologise to anyone working on an arena map for the inconvenience, I advise you to bug the person in charge of the server stuff (as Immortal D to find out who that is) until they fix the issue of crashes in the arena map AND afterwards)

Just wanted to let everyone know that arena has been fixed :D So bring on the custom deathmatch!

I am working on a arena map so I hope it is working properly now :p

me and immortal ran various tests on the server...

playing a valve arena map works, the valve map played after the arena map works
playing a custom arena map works, the custom map played after the arena map works
having someone download either map 1st works
an arena game played through to the end does not crash, the map following arena played through to the end does not crash

the untested includes...

a test on the server with full load (24 players)
and the fixed time limit commands, the last test had arena only last for one round, so the new configuration is untested...

yeah...

Good to see arena is working.
I know its been a pain for you guys, I appreciate you trying.
It got on there at the end of the day and Immortal was trying to load my map, my comp crashed and I had to reboot :(

Anyway, I'd like to get arena_medieval up if I can reserve a slot. Mid day would be great.

But I've found an issue with the latest vers (b4) that I have already fixed, I didn't realize my water brush had to be surrounded (it was in displacements) so fire was buggy and stickies vanished.

I won't be able to upload until thursday though. That'll be vers B4_v1, hopefully that will be a test for the final vers.
