Embankment - "All services are suspended due to mercenaries on the line..."

A King of the Hill map based in central London, with the teams fighting over control of an Underground line. My third attempt at a TF2 map set in the British capital, but now with a layout and setting I’m finally happy with. Features lots of UK-themed assets which will eventually see a release in the London content pack, for which this map will hopefully act as something of a showcase (as Hardhat, Suijin and Shoreleave were to their respective content packs).

Credits to FGD5 and Cytosolic for the London models used in the map so far.

  • Drastically widened and expanded mid, including much more space behind the point
  • First and second paths from spawn now reworked to be simpler and less mazelike
  • Third path from spawn now opens up onto lower level embankment terrace as well as onto Tube line trackside
  • Removed weird covered bridge with full health pack
  • Added high ground behind point, accessible via first path from spawn, hopefully to give attackers a bit more of an advantage
  • Changed layout of staircases in spawn yard leading to footbridge and second path
  • Temporarily removed 3D skybox
  • Begun some minor detailing

Hope you'll finish this map soon, pretty excited for this content pack

Some problems i found:
- Blu's spawn door props don't work (but the nodraw door brushes work though)
- The train can kill if you land on top of it, not sure if it's intentional but it would be cooller if you can ride the train by dropping down the window
- Some props need clipping, like the Police booth roof or the fences (since you're actually focusing on the gameplay aspect rather than just the aesthetic)

edit: just noticed that only Blu' police booth has the topping (that affects movement), but not Red

  • Continued early detailing
  • Reinstated 3D skybox
  • Reworked high ground into enclosed space with less construction-y balcony
  • Changed pickup types around point
  • Added clipping to lampposts, railings, preliminary detailing and other tight spaces
  • Fixed BLU spawn doors not opening
