This has been an issue for like 2 years now and, though it bugged me for a while, I ended up not bothering anymore after several failed attempts to fix it (the only one is Not func_detailing).

It's still pretty much solid when it comes to collisions. I checked the portal file but no visleafs weren't stopping by that area and I don't know what else to do.

I had the same problem before and I was told to just recreate the brush, did you try that? If it doesn't work, maybe you could recreate, then resize the pillar and clip it in half. Don't mean to be redundant if you tried these methods before.

No, I haven't. However, it was considered just like on a previous case, though I never ended up doing that after realizing it was a game bug (where transparencies seem not to draw properly on certain surfaces, such as static props and other stuff, only in TF2 since the MyM update).

Forgot to mention that I call it a "Byre" where I'm standing on, and the same one is on the other side of the map, being affected by the same thing. It's either the metallic cover or a weird inclination of the brush itself.

Sorry, not quite sure what I'm looking at. Is there supposed to be a beam there like on the other side towards where the cp hologram is?

Remake the brush - make sure the vertices are all 90 degrees. Try it as s non fucn_detail brush first, then as a func_detail, then if it happens again, try lowering the top face down by 1 unit to see if that works. Also, it may be a weird rad item happening causing the issue. Try moving the sun entity in your map to a different position if possible and maybe change the sun's light angles < I know it sounds strange but I had a 4 hour rad compile because the sun's angles were off, and once completed, the visual effects in the negative, were truly outstanding.

Yes. It's as if putting a solid Nodraw block on top of a solid ground, and whatever the Nodraw block touches will not be drawn in-game. I'm certain it's the weird vertex manipulation I've done with the metallic covers to make the edges look better, will see. Thank you for the suggestion, though.

I echo the advice to delete and remake the brush. It is surprising how many problems can be fixed that way, even if you make it exactly the same as before.

The thing that I find weird is that it only happens when tied to be a Detail brush, but not when it's simply a Solid one. It also happens to an identical brush on the other side of the map, which was replicated from scratch (not drag-copied). Had it given problems no matter what, I would've definitely considered remaking the brush before trying anything else.
