the skybox is enables you to see through a wall and its not supposed to. the first picture is from the outside and the second one is from where im looking at in the first

Skybox brushes are not fully opaque. The 2d skybox will always, always render behind everything else in the map- regardless of the placement of the 2d skybox brush relative to other brushes. You'll want to use some sort of opaque brush, ie the wood texture you're already using, to ensure players can't see into other parts of the map they shouldn't. You also generally shouldn't be using the skybox texture as a wall within the playable space (areas that players can access), as rockets will not explode on skybox brushes.

You can use areaportals to help you out a little bit, but you would need to separate between the visible areas better. Youre better off using an opaque wall as said above.

Skyboxes block visibility calculations. Which are allowed to have false positives. Skyboxes don't actually draw anything on their own, they just set the "sky in pvs" flag in the visibility data. Other than that, they are identical to nodraw.
