Hi guys, many of you know for the past just over a third of a year I've been slaving away at an online FPS game running through Steamworks I intend to release to the public on the Steam Store late next Spring, or early in the Summer. Turns out getting to a finished/publishable state is very hard, let alone getting through the stages of being able to sell a game. This is still the final goal, but our path right now is to improve until we grow large enough to catch the eyes of a publisher.

However, for those that do not know, it's an online arena game where you use various whacky bubble guns and powerups to fling your opponents away to your victory!

However, the time has came that I'm struggling to keep up with the workload on my own, and am looking to seek additional team members to lessen the load, which of course includes a % payment upon release on the Steam Store and Developer status.

The Current Team
@Berry -
Lead, Gameplay Design, Level Design, Bug Fixing
@Another Bad Pun - Sound Effects, Level Design
Swush - Music Design
@Tumbolisu - Modelling

Roles to be Filled
Animator -
Someone with animation skills, who is able to at least hopefully animate a rigged player model.
Modeller - Map props & weapons are essential parts of the game, and as such need models creating. I do a lot of this myself right now, but am always open to being able to delegate.
Level Designer - As we have a public Level Editor made for the game, we're more interested in eventually bringing someone on with experience with this tool; so if you're interested in this I encourage you to visit the Discord, try out the editor and go from there.
Particle Creator - Somebody capable of creating particles for various purposes.

Testing
Like any game, testers are necessary! We already have a Discord where tests happen semi-regularly, and we have a very public testing process! Join below to find the game, chat, and be notified of tests!

All interest is much appreciated! Feel free to post below if it sounds as though it could be for you.

Update: Everything here is still relevant, we're still always looking to expand; though be aware as of now it's a passion job and an extra piece for the CV/resume more than for money (though I don't think anyone expected any payouts from this soon). I'm very proud of what we have so far, and I hope people will come along and join us. Everyone who hops into the Discord and joins our playtests gets added to a little document where upon the point the game goes up for sale you will receive a free key (and likely other bonuses).

I'd also like to shout out my alpha level editor - BMapper -, a tool I made for the game to create levels. It's very bare-bones and leaves a lot to be desired for now, but it's very nice to have an easy tool that anyone can use to make levels for our game and host on their servers!

I'm a multi-instrumentalist, and i've always wanted to do LD/Music for a game. I don't have much to show as i've never really recorded any of my work, but i'm happy to make a bunch of garbage for you to check out if need be.

I would be able to do character modeling for this, but I won't be able to do animations for them due to lacking quality. (I don't find animating to be an overly interesting process, so I have only basic experience with it.) I actually experimented with UE's asset stuff over the past two or three years, so I kinda know what its like and what it likes.
I should also mention that I am not the best when it comes to coming up with new stuff from scratch, which is why I already extensivly asked about the artstyle and what the players should look like. If provided with a simple model sheet or drawing, it should take me at most a week to create the full model and rig.

I would like to make one model just to see if I'm good enough for the job, so as mentioned above, some direct reference material would be awesome!

I just noticed that every sentence starts with an I.

I can do character modelling and animation! I'm not experienced with integrating it into a game (for things such as blending animation etc.). Failing that, I LOVE making scenery, textures and skyboxes, that sort of thing - so I could help with that area.

Also I make music as a hobby so I'd love to provide some for your game; I could send you some as an example if you want-

Hi, can you send me a private message with some previous work.

Thanks.

Do you have scheduled playtest times? Helping you out a bit sounds fun if I can make time.

The world could always use more cute non-violent FPS!

Sadly they're all very impromptu right now, but I would love to eventually clean up when playtests happen to be linear and planned.

The best thing to do is join the Discord linked in the OP to get notified, there's usually a couple after each version release. I'm pushing a version shortly today so there should be a test tonight and tomorrow at least.

I am considering on finding a position related to programming for your project, but I am a little confused in a few aspects about this project.

What sort of programming jobs would you need done? I can work on gameplay mechanics and other sorts of things (With the exception of networking because I have never programmed anything related to it), granted it's not alien to me. I have programmed in C# and Java and am currently working on a degree in Computer Science, for instance.

Besides that, which engine are you using? Is there any other information I can look to (besides the discord), like a webpage? I want to attempt working on a game like this but I'm not sure where I would be needed. Any pointers in the right direction would be helpful

I already responded to you in the discord, but I thought I'd also respond here for anyone reading this thread potentially interested. I'm currently not looking for any programmers sadly, at this point I'd prefer to be the only one around the game's technical bits (not to say that won't change in the future, however), and the positions I'm looking for are the ones listed in the original post.

The game is made in Unreal Engine 4, which uses a combination of it's blueprints and C++. Thanks for the interest regardless.

Hey! I'm an amateur 3D modeler, and would love to help you out if I can! I'd just need to know what type of file the models would be imported as, so I can make sure Blender works well with it!

Unreal Engine 4 uses the FBX file format to import models.

I've updated the post a little bit, we're still chugging a long and much improvement has been made since the post was first made. I'm very proud of how far we've gotten, and if anyone is remotely interested I encourage them to join us in one of our playtests.

Aight, then I'd love to help!

I'd love to see a portfolio. We can always use an extra hand, even if for just dealing with tiny pieces.

I sent you a private message regarding this a while back and had no response. If you still have any interest feel free to message me.
