I'm kind of in the same boat as EArkham. I submitted my latest version two weeks ago and just haven't had much time to work on it since then. I'm pretty happy with the state its in at the moment, though.

I've uploaded the final (for this contest) version of cp_mist. (beta 2) It may still be rough around the edges but I've sanded them down as best as I am able within the time frame, its much prettier than the earlier builds though.

I have also updated the steam workshop version to match up with this build, if that matters.

Today is indeed the final day to submit your map! Remember to update your post in the submissions thread to the latest version of your map. Good luck to all

Didn't get as far as I wanted with detailing but hopefully it's good enough for now.
Don't sweat it, your map looks sick. You did great with those dev textures.

Edit: I'm an idiot, just went and checked and you don't have just dev textures anymore. Looking really good so far, though.

After several months of hard labour, slaving away in hammer and listening to the advice and complains of the competitive community, we have finally arrived at the end of the first phase of the meet your map contest!

15 maps in all were submitted to the contest, and they are as follows:
  • cp_jam_a1 by armio43
  • cp_cardinal_b3 by Phi
  • cp_propaganda_b2 by Quantum
  • Koth_rockyard_a7 By Xayir
  • cp_mist_b2 by hutty
  • cp_stitched_a8a by jimb0t
  • cp_woodhouse_a3a by Evader.Mid
  • cp_antiquity_b18 by EArkham & Vhalin
  • koth_almih_a5 by Mould
  • koth_clearcut_preb4_2 by SturmTrpr
  • koth_dump_water by [Rx.] Christian Troy
  • koth_pain_a5 by Messing Around
  • koth_export_b6 by XEnderFaceX
  • cp_relic_a5a by trees
  • koth_synthetic_b1a by MegapiemanPHD
If I've got the version of any of these maps wrong, please let me know!

While I originally intended to have a group of people to help me decide on which three maps will make it into the next stage of the contest, the unfortunate truth is that I'm pretty much the only person who's been keeping up with all the maps and play-tested them all, so I will be the one to make the decision alone. I'm going to try and play-test the maps which I think has the most promise in the following week or so, and I will try to arrange another essentials.tf stream and get some maps featured on pugchamp to get as much feedback as possible before I pick out the three best maps.

I'd like to thank all of the map makers who made it their mission to continuously update their maps based on feedback and criticism. To see a map change and improve in this kind of feedback loop has been truly amazing to be a part of, and I believe it is this kind of cooperation that TF2 could use more of and which i hope will happen more in the future. Whether or not your map makes it into the next stage of the competition, you can rest easy knowing that your map definitely changed for the better over the course of the last few months!

The final 6v6 tournament is scheduled to take place in mid-April.

Any update on this?

Seem like he's very busy right now, there're many competitive tournaments happening.

He has to organizing, casting and making frag movie and stuff

Also he said in the post above there'll be a 6s tournament in mid-April, so let's just wait

Greetings everyone! I have been very busy with going to LANs, doing production and casting for the ETF2L playoffs and being swamped by work, but I am now back and ready to announce the three winning maps which will move on to the next stage of the competition and be used in the two-day cup scheduled for next weekend! (more info on that tournament to follow in a few days)

So without further ado, the three winning maps who will have the chance to take home the first prize of 130€ and a SVIFT hoodie are:

cp_cardinal by Phi:

cp_propaganda by Quantum:

and koth_synthetic by MegapiemanPHD:

Congratulations to you, and keep in mind that you are allowed to still update your map, so if you have any final changes you want to get done before the main competitive community see your map, you will have about a week to do so. Maybe make your maps look pretty to sway the minds of young impressionable comp players, eh?

A quick update regarding the scheduling of the final 6v6 tournament: Due to the season end being pushed back by Copenhagen games and hugs.tf taking place this weekend, the Meet Your map tournament has been rescheduled to April 28-29. This will place the tournament in the ETF2L off-season and allow a greater number of people to participate.

I'm sorry about the delays, but on the plus side you now have more time to polish your maps!

The final tournament has now been officially announce over at ETF2L: http://etf2l.org/beater-presents-meet-your-map-cup/

It includes this trailer:

To the finalists: If you make a newer version of your map we'll do our best to use that version for the tournament, but since we have to make download links available, update servers with the right maps and just generally organize everything, it is important you give us enough time to go through the motions. If you upload a new version Friday night, for instance, we won't have time to get everything done.

@Beater : Cardinal should get an update mid-week, no later than Wednesday, fixing invisible clipping on a railing and a few other very small things. Hopefully that can be the version used for the tournament.
