Hello TF2maps community.

Introduction
I'v been learning how to use hammer for a bit now and I have finally decided to start start working on my first map, but first I'm hoping to put together a little personal test map for measurements as something to refer to when mapping.

Problem

I'm trying to make a prop_static of all the TF2 characters In my map.
I select the prop_static and change the world model to... lets say scout.
So I click on the file (player\hwm\scout.mdl).
Test it out to see if it works
Boom! the scout ceases to exist...
I head back to the hammer editor to see if I deleted it.
Nope! He just doesn't show up in game.

conclusion

I'm sure this is an easy fix and its just something I don't understand but if any of you know the answer
Please do tell...

Use prop_dynamic or prop_dynamic_override instead of static. If that doesn't work, try prop_physics.

Player models will only show up in a map if they are prop_dynamic. This also applies to certain hats and other animated things of that nature. Switch it to dynamic and you will be fine!
