Hammer Flipping Bug

Since "upgrading", I use the term loosely, to Windows 10 I've had all manner of problems with Hammer that I never had before. I'd like to know if this is due to some Windows 10 dependency or if it's just Hammer being Hammer.

1. Increased crashing frequency. Hammer would already crash on Windows 7 but not near this much. There is no error dialog either Hammer simply and suddenly crashes without so much as a lock up. This is minor compared to the others bugs though.

2. When using ctrl-m to rotate objects occasionally the math is just plain bizarre. You can put in a change to only one coordinate and have a brush rotate in two or all three coordinates to some weird angle and off the grid. Doing the rotation manually still works correctly and I can restart Hammer and ctrl-m may or may not work correctly again.

3. The big one. Hammer no longer flips models and entities to the correct or consistent orientation. For a long while I've made and updated my symmetrical maps by having separate visgroups for Red, Blue and Center entities. To keep everything symmetrically correct I'd delete one side, copy drag the other, flip it and then reskin it. Now when I do it brush geometry reverses correctly but many, not all, models and lights fail to reverse correctly. The problem is consistent in happening making flipping things require a hunt to check every entity's orientation afterwards.

The main thing is problem #3 the others I can live with or work around but most of my maps are made by flipping and it's a major pain. Is anyone else having these issues? Is it not Windows 10 but related to Hammer? Could I have bumped some setting that is making entities not flip correctly?

I probably need to go back to Windows 7 for other reasons but as I've not got time to do that at the moment I'd kind of like to know if it is the cause or if others are having these issues.

crashing frequency...mainly when you compile? or just by opening hammer?
I can't recall ever having a crash on compile or opening hammer, even before it started doing them more frequently. It crashes just as I'm working. I'll be going along fine and suddenly hammer instantly blinks out of existence, no hammer.exe has stopped working dialog like the old crashes. I can't remember if I've been doing a specific same thing when it happens, sorry. I did consider I might be hitting a hot key or something that was closing it but on restart it gives the "hammer did not shut down properly dialog and asks if I want to reload the map from the autosave file.

Is there an error/crash log for hammer somewhere? I can't remember? It might not help anyway since I don't get a dialog when it crashes I don't know if it would write to a file.

Of the issues the crashes aren't that big a deal, like once per 3-4 hours-ish?, I only mentioned them because it might be connected to the other more pressing issues. Years of using hammer have taught me to ctrl-s like a nervous tick :p (that's an exaggeration but you get the idea :) ).

Recently, I've been crashing as well, but it's mostly because of working with touchy subjects, like displacements, large selection rotations, copy and pasting, etc. Hope this information helps somewhat.
