I have this wall that has weird lighting, and a pitch black bottom. (The bottom texture is different) The wall with weird lighting is everything above the doorways and shnoz.

It can be properly lit up, but it was lit up earlier from the lights on the ceiling. and I don't want to have to place lights directly under the texture. Is there any way to fix this?

Edit: Fixed Links

Lighting like that can sometimes be caused by leaks or compiling on the fast setting. Try fixing any existing leaks or compiling on Full - Both with compilepal.
There are no leaks that I know of, and I always compile with the default settings.

I wanna argue that there's not enough light from the ceiling being bounced into those areas, considering the light source is high up. What happens when the ceiling is lower?

Moving the light source doesn't change anything. The lighting was just fine before, it's as if it's incredibly dim and needs a light right next to it to be lit.

My next suggestion is trying a different texture on that surface or reapplying the same one. I've sworn I've seen issues like this on maps before.

I've tried this, it's not the texture. It's always pitch black.

Well if it's not the texture and not the lighting... Best guess I have now is the geometry itself.
Edit: And I don't mean leaks either. There might be something wrong with the way that indentation is shaped.
Edit #2: As for the hall, let's pick at this one thing at a time.
Edit #3 yeeeSHH: I'd like to see some examples of that surface being lit.

Another suggestion, since this issue looks like either a geometry issue or a compile issue is to try Compile Pal to see if there's any differing results, for real. The way I see it with that first image, the lighting is confused as though that indent is supposed to be like some sort of interior(er) space, since none of the light in that space seems to creep out onto the surrounding wall area. You may need to check if there's anything being automatically generated that could be causing this issue. Same with the hallway issues might I add.
