Giant Sequoia Trees - Dem some big damn trees yo

Giant sequoia trees.

Comes in six parts:

Lower trunk, middle trunk, upper trunk, and lower foliage, middle foliage, and upper foliage. Each set is 1024 tall.

There is also a skybox version of a full tree plus skybox sized foliage.

Stack one upper trunk/foliage set for a "short" sequoia (~1024 hu tall).

Stack one upper trunk/foliage set + one lower trunk/foliage set for a "medium" sequoia (~2048 hu tall).

Stack one one upper trunk/foliage set + one middle trunk/foliage set + one lower trunk/foliage set for a full sized sequoia (~3072 hu tall).

Stack the above plus many middle trunk/foliage sets and go up forever if you want, who am I to tell you how to map.

Set the foliage pieces to NON-SOLID with vertex lighting DISABLED. The trunks can be set however you like.

The trunk texture in this version, B1 is totally unfinished as it's basically just an AO bake over a tiled wood texture. There are visible seams. I'll fix it within a couple of days.

I don't see one with a car hole cut into it...

Now, all we need is a map set in the treetops with the forest floor hundreds of feet below.

Ew, you just gave me flashbacks to that one level in Sonic 2006 where if you fall you just go through this flat texture of foliage that essentially makes up the bottom of the skybox.

Is it possible for skybox variants of the individual parts too? Then you could do some skybox trickery with having a large bottom up to the skybox height, then continue the tree in the actual skybox using the upper pieces.
I like this idea, but it might screw bits with lighting… we'd need to see I guess.

Pretty sure this is the case in several Sonic games lol.

(Sonic Heroes comes to mind)

Honestly the full size ones still reveal slight seams where they line up. Even though I baked textures to cover up the seams, the different lighting that naturally happens across two seperate props reveals it. Full size to skybox would probably be a lot more noticeable.

I guess it's not really any effort to compile 1/16 scale versions since it's pretty much a two line QC change, so I'll probably include them in a future update if I ever do the drive-thru one.

Because some people just want it bigger than ever before.
