lost my map - FIXED

when you go to file on the bottem there are always 4 maps that you were recently on.
but my map isn't in there. i clicked on open and found my map but it wouldn't load. (it was stuck at 5%)
does it matter if the map file has a vmf file in the name because the file that i found of my map have vmf behind it.

If you haven't already, you should enable the automatic backup system in hammer.

As for your map, perhaps its corrupted?
A VMF's is just a text file, so if you could somehow find out what is breaking it, you can delete it with notepad.

Always, always keep a copy of your map with another filename. It's preferable to backup your map progress into different files so you can always go back to previous version, and keep a backup of those too.

i think my map has some kind of loading issue because every map will load fine except the map i need.

I don't have hammer open, but I think it is tools tab, bottom option, look through menu

i finally found my map.
all i had to do was. start up the portal 2 hammer editor and open my map. then close it and start up the tf2 hammer
