No, I'm not a developer, no I'm not taking your map concepts :p I'm taking your souls!

That aside, I'm curious. How would you feel if Blizzard, or Hi-Rez looked at your idea for a new map type and made a series of maps for Overwatch or Paladins using it?

Not taking the layout or any of the assets, just the idea behind the map (like 5CP, or King of the Hill).

of course it depends. if he uses my map concept(s) without giving credit to me i would feel kinda weird happy in the one side and angry in the other.

Yeah, I wouldn't enjoy that. But personally, I have to admit I would kinda feel validated if Blizzard or Hi-Rez saw my map concept as worthy of taking.

if it's not blatant copying of the map and/or idea, I'm just going to hit them up and ask 'where's the money' or something along those lines.

'Good artists borrow, great artists steal.'

As said by either Picasso or T.S.Elliott according to various sources.

I'd most likely just be like "eh, cool" and carry on with my day. I mean, I'd have to assume it was nothing more than sheer coincidence.

Plot twist, Blizzard secretly based all of their original designs off your maps and you never knew :p

There's an old article I read ages ago on, I think, the Escapist, that posited that professional game developers are not going to steal ideas from nobodies on the Interwebs. The #1 reason was that anyone who managed to score a real job at a real game studio was going to perfectly capable of coming up with their own ideas, and whether they were actually good or not, they would be far more interested in getting those ideas made a reality than swiping ideas from other people.

Wish I could find that article; it was pretty smartly written.
