Tyro Station - Beware of the train....

This is the map I created using my Train station prefab.

I've based it on the Gears of War 2 of the same name.

It has some of the features of that map and a few of my own.

I'm not gonna bother just pointing that out YET AGAIN, ill just post them myself.

The first thing you see after you spawn is:

This door opens so fast it glitches out, it also closes after a moment even if you are in the trigger.

Verdict: usual garbage, not worth anyone's time.

I'd like to remind you this is not Garry's Mod workshop. Things like these have no place here.

I usually use a snap to grid 16 but use 1 for aligning brushwork.

I'm currently fixing my lousy brushwork and model placement. This was just an preview of the map.

I respectfully disagree with your verdict. It is an insult to people who are learning hammer and I think you are too harsh on your comments.

I'm trying my best you know and also it's my choice if I want to use mlp memes in my replies.
I don't see anything in the site rules that say I can't. Unless they've changed recently.

They make it twice as hard to scroll through the thread and see what you want to say; they are highly unnecessary, and out of context.

Insult to people who limited their skills and do not want to learn anything to improve their creations and how they present their creations? Maybe. Insult to people learning hammer? Arguably.

While I think Alligator could have been a little more moderated in his comments, you're making the exact same mistakes - and the exact same strange choices - as you were before. You can't keep doing the same thing and expect people to look past it. You've submitted, what, four or five maps now? If you forget to turn the grid on for your first map, it's an understandable mistake. If you forget to turn the grid on- or pack properly, or use appropriate props - for your fifth, it seems less like an understandable newbie mistake, and more like carelessness.

The MLP pics don't really fit the TF2 theme too well, in my opinion. The HL2 assets look a little out of place but not as much as the MLP parts.

Agreed, seems odd to spend time packing (easter eggs?) at an early version like this?

"I usually use a snap to grid 16 but use 1 for aligning brushwork." Using 1 to align brushwork kinda explains why a fair portion of the brushwork is off, notably the building next to the tracks. You should stick to bigger grid size (16, 32, 64), unless it's necessary for you to use the smallest grid size possible.

Another thing you should get mindful of; repacking. Now it isn't like crucial or a necessity for mapping, but you really should do it since it reduces a lot of file size from your map which is basically great for imps/gamedays.

I think it's a good time for a reminder that this is a community intended for serious map development, a lot of us here are professionals, if you're not willing to take constructive criticism there's not much we can do to help your development as a Hammer user.

Additionally, the usage of My Little Pony image macros doesn't do you much good in this community, if anything it gives other users a reason to not take you seriously. (Not to mention it unnecessarily clutters up the thread, and they're just flat-out silly.)

I'm gonna finish up this post by repeating what AsG_Alligator said; this isn't the Garry's Mod Workshop.
